The Barking Mad protest at West Vancouver’s Ambleside Park brought out hundreds of supporters and their dogs. They braved the rain on Sunday afternoon in support of the 100 sled dogs killed by Outdoor Adventures Whistler last year. A similar protest was held yesterday in Whistler. An investigation is underway by the BCSPCA. News of the incident reached the Vancouver Humane Society. The organization promptly reacted by calling for a ban on the sled dog tour business.
Organized by media journalist Catherine Barr, participants were encouraged to wear Olympic red attire and voice their anger towards this horrific event that should never happen again, here or anywhere else on the planet.
