Icebreaker is set to launch a second store in September, this time on Vancouver’s North Shore.
The new 1,700 square foot TouchLab will be located in The Village at Park Royal in West Vancouver. Icebreaker’s full line of pure merino wool apparel will be available, along with a Tactile Gallery providing shoppers an opportunity to touch pure Icebreaker merino before it becomes part of the New Zealand company’s outdoor and lifestyle wear collection.
I’m a fan of their soft, wearable pieces and was on hand to help celebrate Icebreaker’s Kitsilano opening last year.
“Vancouverites have been such great supporters of Icebreaker, and we think the North Shore is an ideal fit for our second store. It attracts fit, healthy shoppers who love taking advantage of Vancouver’s mild climate – which lets you play outside year-round – and who value natural fibers and sustainability,” said Hazel Doocey, General Manager of Retail at Icebreaker.
The Park Royal Village TouchLab store will feature Icebreaker’s complete line of pure merino wool apparel, including its Outdoor, Running, Travel, Kids, Underwear and City collections and Socks and Accessories, all made from handpicked merino wool born in the Southern Alps of New Zealand.
Icebreaker merino wool is soft, doesn’t itch, is highly breathable, and can be worn for days at a time without picking up odour. Merino also regulates temperatures, which means it warms in the cold and cools in the heat.
Icebreaker opened its first Canadian TouchLab in Montréal in 2008. The company has six other North American TouchLabs in Montréal, Canada; Portland, Oregon (its US headquarters); New York City (SoHo and the Meatpacking District); and California (San Francisco and opening this September, San Jose). Icebreaker is based in Wellington, New Zealand, and is sold in more than 3,000 stores in 43 countries.
